• Twoonie Swim at Eastglen Leisure Centre
  Eastglen, with its unique salt-water pool, offers many popular drop-in experiences like deep and shallow water aquafit, aquamat, lane swimming, learn to swim lessons for kids and women and girls-only swim opportunities.

• Skate with the Oil Kings
  Lace up your skates and head over to Chapelle Gardens Residents Association to skate with the Oil Kings. The Edmonton Oil Kings skate is open to the public, and there is no cost to join.

Saturday January 24, 2026

• City of Edmonton Play Rangers: Snowshoes, Snow Forts, Kicksleds, Warming fire
  Up for an adventure? Come try out a Kicksled or build a snow fort. Maybe try snowshoeing or just come by to stay warm next to the fire.

• Family Literacy Day
  Gather around the table at the library! Sample fresh breads and baked delights from nearby bakeries and discover how mealtime is a wonderful way for families to learn and connect.

• NERF Wars at Sherbrooke Community League
  Join us for the ultimate indoor winter play - NERF battle, indoor play and snacks for the participants! Bring your NERF gun(s) and be ready to defend yourself! Extra ammo will be provided.

• Snowshoe and Hot Chocolate at Telus World of Science
  Every Saturday, there are two tour sessions to take part in. Tour 1 runs from 1:00–1:45 pm with a stop at the fire hearth and Medicine Garden, and Tour 2 begins at 2:15 pm. Register in person at the Beaver Mural. Tours run unless temperatures drop below –15°C.

• Hazeldean Lantern Parade
  The Annual Hazeldean Lantern Parade is set for Saturday, January 24th, promising a magical evening that brings the community together through creativity and celebration. The event begins at 5:00 PM at the Hazeldean Community Hall, where participants are invited to decorate their own lanterns using empty milk jugs, pop bottles, or other clear container.

• Skate the Night Away
  Enjoy a fun and safe overnight rink experience after regular hours! Participants will have late-night access to the rink, take breaks with movies in the hall, and enjoy a supervised sleepover on site.

• Kiwis Can’t Play the Violin
  Experience the heartwarming story, Kiwis Can't Play the Violin, by Pierre Rivard alongside an enchanting full-orchestral score by Emilie LeBel (world premiere). Follow Kiwi on a journey to get a violin and join the orchestra, overcoming challenges and learning about the wonders that encouragement can accomplish.
